MalinaMoye

We totally get Malina Moye’s title to her current album, Diamonds & Guitars because it describes our beauty as women in relation to how diamonds are admired. Our strength and determination to accomplish the impossible relates to guitars because that instrument alone is often attached to a male dominated following.  Hence, Malina Moye who showcases both her feminine and raw talent as a musical artist.  We hope you enjoy both the audio and text content of her interview.

~ Beautifully Said.

Flipping a Fender Stratocaster upside-down acclaimed singer/songwriter/lefty guitarist Malina Moye is a quadruple threat who has carved out her own lane with distinctive talent that has her poised to fill a void in the entertainment industry. She has come a long way in such a short time. Moye’s music history boasts an impressive resume that includes performing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, sharing stages with and supporting such multi-platinum, Grammy-Award-winning artists as Boyz II Men, Robin Thicke—not to mention lifetime Grammy recipient and blues pioneer Pinetop Perkins, to name a few.

With an electrifying stage show, Malina and her band deliver an intoxicating fusion of R&B, Rock and Soul. The Diamonds & Guitars record is a testament to organic music that fuses Malina’s own signature wah-esque style with the undertone of hip/hop grooves, sassy vocals, and neo-soul, all while preserving its mainstream appeal.

Among the new generation of lead guitarists, Malina is the first African American left-handed, female guitarist to be included on the legendary guitar maker’s impressive roster of endorsees, and was featured in the UK documentary Stratmaster: The Greatest Guitar Story Ever Told. Her guitar prowess earned her an invite to perform at The Robert Johnson Festival and UK’s Blues and Soul Magazine touted Malina as having “…all the ingredients to shake the modern soul room.

“Malina’s humanitarian efforts include serving as ambassador for HRH Prince Charles’ Prince’s Trust for which she donated her single “Hustler’s Blues” to the Wilberforce 200 compilation CD in the company of Britain’s soul imports. The compilation was one of the fastest selling soul CD’s on iTunes UK with all proceeds going to the Trust and UNICEF.

Cover girl Malina Moye continues to build a brand name globally, appearing in campaigns like Victoria Secret’s “ life is Pink” and shoe chain Steve Madden’s Music amongst other retail powerhouses. Her critically acclaimed LP “Diamonds & Guitars” reached number 35 on Amazon.com and iTunes respectively.

Diamonds and Guitar’s is available now and steadily climbing the charts.
