  • Layering is one of the best fool-proof ways to always look good no matter what the weather is doing outside.
  • Wear lighter clothes as the foundation, and then add layers with a jacket and scarf.
  • It’s also good to have a nice-sized tote bag to stuff a small umbrella, sweater or change of shoes in once it stops raining or being chilly outside.
  • A pop of color is always nice on a rainy day. This way, you’ll have a bit of sunshine with you.

MODCHIC: How to Stay Stylish in Houston's Ever-Changing WeatherGrowing up in Africa the idea of being a designer or seamstress for Ebele ILoanya was a big no-no, especially if you had the means to be college-educated. Hence, she started her career in the corporate world as a marketing specialist. Even though she was in the corporate world, her heart always yearned to do something in fashion, she’d sketch something on a piece of paper or try to change the style of an already made garment. Her “leap” to fashion came in 2009 and now she’s living out a lifelong fantasy of designing clothing that’s affordable, trendy and inspiring. When she’s not building the MODChic brand, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children or traveling around the world.
