Rushion McDonald who served as Executive Producer of the Steve Harvey Show since it aired in 2012 will now host a weekly radio show called Money Making Conversations. The idea stems from the financial and business Q&A platform he’s conducted on Facebook over the last two years. The radio program which launched on May 1st already has a guest lineup to include Patti LaBelle, Anthony Hamilton, Lalah Hathaway, Charlie Wilson, Kirk Franklin and Kem. The radio show, available on Houston talk/urban oldies station KYND not only caters to celebrities but to the audience, McDonald has come to garner through social media. The Emmy-award winning producer how-to series focuses on conversations with everyday people who want to become better informed about starting a business, credit knowledge, career opportunities and finances. McDonald will bring these same topics and more to radio where many of the celebrities featured will share the business side of what they do.
“Entertainment is also a business,” explains McDonald. “The whole purpose of having celebs on the show is for them to talk about the business side of their careers. In order to have a career, you have to be able to take on a business persona. The ultimate goal is to create a place where listeners can receive valuable financial, business and career advice for free.”
Along with radio, McDonald is busy in production with Evidence of Innocence, a new documentary series to debut on TV One in 2018. It is executive produced by McDonald through his Atlanta-based company 3815 Media in partnership with Jupiter Entertainment.
McDonald also plans to expand his media company to the Los Angeles area sometime this year.
