For those of you who may not know the meaning of monochromatic, it simply means containing or wearing only one color. The Monochromatic look can be worn with all shades of the same color. It’s not always the most talked about or the most popular style but can be very fashionable and chic if worn the right way. Here I give you some tips on how to get your mono look in style.

Let’s start off with the color black which is the most popular color worn by women. Any woman can pull off anything in the color black whether it is a dress and some pumps or pants and a top with heels. The color black does not discriminate against anyone and can be a fun way to start your monochrome look. Take a look at former supermodel Cynthia Bailey who just turned 50 in her beautiful street style in all black.

I will admit that it may be a little bit easier for men to pull off the monochrome look considering most men may be in the business field or at least attend  a few after 5 events. This means they can wear 2 piece suits which are usually all one color. Check out this handsome brother giving us three looks to boast about.

Ladies if you decide to wear a look with the same color and same shade of color try to wear a neutral color as it will help tone down your look but still allow you to achieve fabulousity (note: it’s a modern urban word) at the same time. Check out this beauty in all grey.

Remember the hardest part about wearing all one color with different shades of that color is trying to get it to match. My suggestion would be to wear the darker shade on the bottom and the lighter shade on the top as seen in the cover photo above. This will help even out the colors of your outfit while still giving you that bold look.
